Pitbull to Perform and Brunello Cucinelli's Spring 2016 Fashion Show to be Featured at Destination Fashion 2016 presented by Swanee and Paul DiMare

Co-Anchor of NBC News’ Today Show Savannah Guthrie will emcee with Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Dawn and Tommy Lee Jones, Brittany and Christian Slater serving as Honorary Co-Chairs for this star-studded event at Bal Harbour Shops in South Florida

 

 

The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, the fundraising arm of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, announced at the Destination Fashion kickoff event at Bal Harbour Shops last night that Global Music Icon Pitbull, Mr. Worldwide, will perform in concert and Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour has selected Italian luxury brand Brunello Cucinelli as the featured designer to showcase their Spring 2016 Collection at Destination Fashion 2016 on Saturday, March 5th at Bal Harbour Shops.  This musical pioneer and designer extraordinaire will join Co-Anchor of NBC’s Today Show Savannah Guthrie, who will serve as emcee for the event.

Sports legends, celebrities, philanthropic heroes and corporate leaders wil again come out in force in support of Nick and Marc Buoniconti for the 29th Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner.  This celebration, held each year at the New York City’s famed Waldorf=Astoria, benefits The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis and raises funds to support the ground-breaking spinal cord injury research being done by researchers at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.

 

Our 2014 Legends were: Hakeem Olajuwon, Warren Sapp, Pedro Martinez, Joe Sakic, Bill Cowher, Mary Lou Retton and Lauryn Williams.  Bill Simon received the Oustanding Business Leader Award.  Grant Hill and Calvin Hill received the 2014 Buoniconti Fund Award.  Erik Compton is the 2014 Inspiration Award Recipient.

Thirteenth Annual Celebrity Golf Invitational at The Bear's Club with Jack Nicklaus

Golf icon Jack Nicklaus along with NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti and his son Marc hosted the 13th Annual Buoniconti Fund Celebrity Golf Invitational Presented by Tudor Group at Nicklaus' home club and course, The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Florida. 

 

For 13 years, this event has attracted the world’s top business leaders and celebrities, all working together to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.

 

To date millions have been raised by this event to fund research programs at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

GAIL F. BEACH MEMORIAL LECTURE SERIES

The Miami Project has brought many renowned neuroscientists from around the world to our campus as part of The Gail F. Beach Memorial Visiting Lectureship Series. The lectureship series is dedicated to Gail F. Beach, a schoolteacher and person with SCI, whose generosity and foresight provides outstanding educational opportunities for The Miami Project researchers and our neuroscience colleagues at the University of Miami.  Lectures are held in the James K. Batten Apex Center and Auditorium in the Lois Pope LIFE Center, 7th floor from 12-1pm.
